The above is a reason to watch Prime Minister's Question Time, to catch a glimpse of Caroline Flint
is to die a little, whoever says members of Parliament can't be beautiful hasn't seen Mrs Flint.
James Anderton, former Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police once said that sufferers of Aids were:‘Swirling in a cesspit of their own making.’
You happen to agree with many of this man’s views.
You took part in a diversity course a while back, as required by your force training policy, and to be quite honest it wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be. Perhaps some of your opinions weren’t welcomed with open arms by the other trainees and some of them even found your opinions offensive, however you won’t lose any sleep over it.‘If a guy is swearing, screaming, shouting and drunk, I don’t care if he’s black or gay or transgender or pink with white spots, he’s getting locked up, end of conversation.’
That went down like a lead balloon, with bricks tied to the bottom.
One thing you can’t stand is sycophants, people who pretend to have the ‘right’ opinions just to be politically correct. If people aren’t willing to stand up for what they believe or make a statement and stick to it, then what’s the point of free speech?
Once, as you sat at a set of traffic lights you witnessed a female driver, on the telephone trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. She hit the wall and took her wing mirror off, quite amusing. Does this make you sexist? To some this re-hash of a laughable incident might be construed as sexist, but to others, those people with a grounding in reality, it would not. There is nothing wrong with having a personal opinion, it should be encouraged, but a Police Officer should never let this personal opinion effect how they perform their duty.
A lot of the training was mainly looking at what laws are in place to ensure the fairness of equality to all people, whilst treating everyone according to their needs. So in other words you should treat everyone in the same way (fairness) whilst treating them differently (according to needs). In your opinion that is a complete and utter contradiction, how can you treat everyone the same whilst treating them differently?
In today’s society harassment laws are stacked in favour of women, ethnic minorities and homosexuals. You were once sat in a training session and one of your esteemed colleagues made numerous comments about your age; you retorted with some very swift put downs regarding their gender. During a break this person approached you, perhaps confident that the law was on their side, they had the audacity to say that what you had said had offended them and that they weren’t happy about it.
Not so long ago Avon and Somerset Constabulary
were prosecuted for disposing of the applications of White Males without even looking at them and later Gloucestershire
also admitted to the same action. If they had 'binned' application forms from Black Males would there have been a little more news coverage?
You think that if the Politically Correct crowd had their way, everyone would go home and crawl under their beds, then no one would say anything, no one would get offended and no one would get hurt.
In the words of Detective Robert Goren on Law and Order: Criminal Intent:
